Apply By: Jan 4, 2019, 5pm
Start Date: Jan 15, 2020
Hours: 20-40 hours per week
Type: Part and Full-Time

About bare:

bare market is a package-free retail/grocery concept that aims to nudge behaviour change and incentivize everyday consumers to reduce waste and save money while having fun doing so! We’ve helped divert almost 8,000 single-use containers from landfill through just 65 pop-up shops where customers bring their own containers. We also work across the supply chain to create environmental and social impact. We believe in the limitless potential of reducing waste on an individual, community and systems level. We also believe waste is a fantastic lever for starting a dialogue on systemic and more complex environmental and social issues.

Since June 2018, bare market has been bringing refillable home and body care products to you at accessible pricing with our many pop-up shops around the city. We’re now opening our first storefront location in Toronto’s East end where we’ll also provide fresh produce, pre-prepared bulk foods and beverages, and daily made-to-order food items created at our in-house cafe.

About the Position:

We’re searching for friendly, hard working people who are passionate about sustainability and consumer literacy to join our team in this fast-paced retail grocery environment. The ideal candidate will be above all, a customer service aficionado and will work out of our Danforth/Coxwell retail location.

As a Retail Associate, you can work on either a part-time or full-time basis, 20+ hours per week, morning, day and early evening shifts with at least one weekend shift per week and potentially some holidays. Training to start the week of Jan 12th and normal hours to start the week after.

This is a great opportunity to work at a truly unique start-up, while having a significant impact on the package-free shopping experience in Toronto. Lots of opportunity for growth! If you eat, breathe and dream sustainable food systems, waste reduction, and customer service, then this position is for you.

Responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers, provide timely and efficient customer service, ensure customers feel heard and attended to. Wow customers and treat them as family.
